Overview

The Command Palette is the central hub for navigating your browser. It is injected as a lightweight overlay, meaning it works instantly on any page without forcing you to switch tabs or lose your context.

Anatomy of the Palette

When you open the command palette, you have immediate access to several powerful features:

1. Unified Ranked Search

Start typing to instantly filter a unified list of everything you might want to navigate to. This searches simultaneously across:

• Your active open tabs in the current Space.
• Tabs open in other Spaces.
• Your Space Favorites.
• Your browser Bookmarks.
• Recently closed tabs.
• Your full browser history.

2. Space Switching

Hit Tab or select the Space switcher at the top to jump between your defined Spaces (e.g., Work, Personal, Research).

3. Quick Actions

Use keyboard shortcuts or the action menu to perform operations on tabs:

• Close tabs without switching to them.
• Move tabs between Spaces.
• Pin tabs to your Space Favorites.

4. History (Recently Closed & Full History)

Accidentally closed a tab? The command palette tracks your recently closed tabs and your full browser history. When you restore a recently closed tab, OpenBrowse natively preserves its back/forward history stack and scroll position.

5. Personalization & Autocomplete

The command palette learns your habits. When you type a search query and select a specific result, OpenBrowse remembers that association. Over time, your most frequent selections will naturally rise to the top of the search results.

For your absolute top hits, OpenBrowse will display an inline "ghost text" autocomplete suggestion inside the search bar. You can instantly accept this suggestion by pressing Tab or → (Arrow Right).

6. AI Commands

The command palette integrates with your configured AI model to offer smart actions like AI Tidy, which groups your tabs by semantic topic and cleans up messy titles.
